Since the time of its establishment, DOPASI Foundation has been effectively engaged in serving humanity. DOPASI Foundation follows a lifecycle approach which means that it focuses on people as whole individuals and recognizes that their health care needs will change over the course of life. Through its many initiatives, DOPASI Foundation seeks to make meaningful and lasting interventions that address the root cause of many socio-economic problems existing in Pakistan. The pluralistic and multi-case orientation of the Foundation enables it to work intensively in diverse fields and across all social sectors.

HEALTH AND WELLBEING

Poor health constitutes deprivation and suffering of the most fundamental kind. Dopasi recognizes that disease not only impacts the well-being of an individual and squanders potential but also burdens the family and public resources and weakens society.  Therefore, at the heart of sustainable development lies the health and well-being of people of all ages. The current strategic plan of the Dopasi Foundation highlights Community Health as one of its priority strategic goals to enable equal opportunity and strengthen economic growth. Towards realizing this goal, DOPASI Foundation continues to take many initiatives in rural and urban areas.

QUALITY EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

Dopasi Foundation understands how crucial access to the latest research and advancement is, especially in a developing country like Pakistan, for health workers to make informed medical decisions. A lack of vital research information can put patients at risk and the health of communities will not improve.

WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE

Water is vital for survival, but the health of a community is crucially dependent on its access to clean water, closely followed by sanitation and hygiene practices that are effective in safeguarding the health and decreasing disease spread. Dopasi Foundation continues to spread awareness, train communities,and promote such practices that can create a lasting impact on the general well-being of a community as well as aid in decreasing the spread of various diseases.

COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT

Community empowerment is at the core of Dopasi’s value system. Since its inception, DOPASI has been committed to empowering the disadvantaged section of society and realizes the increasing call to action for empowerment within communities. The different initiatives at Dopasi deal with issues related to access to entitlements and resources, capacity building, and lead nurturing as well as different interventions that address issues related to education, technology, resource management options, etc. 

LIVELIHOOD ENHANCEMENT, YOUTH DEVELOPMENT & CULTURAL HERITAGE

Dopasi believes that youth should and can be a key factor in the strengthening, rebuilding, and transformation of society. The Foundation, therefore, creates different programs like Employment Promotion Pakistan and Youth Development Training Program where youth can be engaged appropriately and prepared adequately for different roles in the work world, civil society, and even family life so they can become definite assets for community development.

DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT

Disaster Risk Reduction and Management is an integral part of sustainable social and economic development as disasters can turn back the clock on all the hard-won economic and social gains made by a country over a period of years. Dopasi works to embed sustainable and resilient programs for vulnerable communities to protect them from the magnified consequences of a disaster that can push them further into poverty.
